What is it worth

Hey, thought I would start a new thread where anyone can post a link to SOMEHTING F1 related they are wanting to sell/buy, and get feedback on what we think it may be worth. I realise we could use another thread, but this could make it a bit easier to check previous estimates.
I shall go first: Two models I am looking at. First one is about $60US outright when converted, I think it looks a good deal but not sure:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Toys-models/Die-casts/Minichamps/auction-317713276.htm
Next one is gonna be a lot harder: A UT 1:18 LM. No box, and windows have gone funny? Any guide to price in USD, Euro, pound would be very helpful :)
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Toys-models/Die-casts/Other/auction-317887828.htm
Cheers guys!

The TAG Minichamps 1/43 is worth no more than £40; the LM in top condition is worth from £100 - this one between £50 and £100
Get the right pair of buyers desperate for either and watch the price escalate....

I have dealt with the seller of the 1:43 TAG F1 before, buying several 1:18 scale F1's off him, and you will definitely not be disappointed. It will be in mint condition and at a fair price.
The F1 with no box and foggy windows (from being on display in the sun rather than dust I'd say) I wouldn't pay any more than $75 NZD if your very keen for an LM. I bought a version 3 LM with no box and clear headlights off Trade Me for $91 NZD a few months ago.
It's probably a 2 to 1 ratio of Maisto to UT model 1:18 listings coming up on Trade Me and they don't come up too often. Depending on what your looking to collect I'd probably go for the 1:43 and wait for a better condition LM to come up.

The TAG would be right aroung the £40 mark at its Buy Now price, might bid lower and try to get it a bit cheaper :)
Will take your pricing for the LM into account, though I don't really want to spend that much on a damaged one so I doubt I will end up buying it!

Do you know if he often get more models in, or is he just offloading his collection?
I am very keen for the TAG, $90NZ all up will be the most I have paid for a 1/43 so willo try and bid for it and avoid full price. But if you vouch for him, I am sure it is worth all 90!
I will wait and see on the LM, if you scored a better one for $90 then I think that 75 might be fair. Could always replace it with a better one later and sell this one!

Yo!
Not meaning to highjack the thread at all, I'll just ask a quick question rather than waste a thread on it:
What brands are good for looking sort of like the car (some look silly), and can be un-screwed off their stands easily?
I have a Maisto '55 Merc model (I believe 1/18), which doesn't seem to be too good for this, but my Bburago '88 Countach model (also I believe 1/18) works well and rolls around happily. What models from this list should I be looking at? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/SearchResults.aspx?&searchType=0347-&searchString=mclaren+f1&x=0&y=0&searchregion=100&type=Search&sort_order=&redirectFromAll=False&generalSearch_keypresses=10&generalSearch_suggested=0

He may still be off loading the double ups in his collections. No doubt it's the higher end of what they are worth but I've found the immaculate condition has justified the price.
For sure you can always sell it off at a later date. Or try and be brave like I'm trying too and look to customize a rougher model. I've done it with a Maisto model but haven't with that UT LM I just bought.

Yeah, as 1/18's are not my priority (take up too much room) I will probably pass on it.

I generally have found that bBurago models are quite good. I also don't find the Maisto's that great. I have a few AutoArts, and they look superb (but command a higher price!). AutoArts are generally my #1 choice for 1/18. Prices can vary for a good one from 75-300 NZD. This is a very nice model and great price IMO:

Looks like a minichamps - the road cars - in any colour - demand a lesser value than the race cars as they were produced in more numbers - expect to pay nothing more than say £30 for one, any more than that and you can wait for the next one as they come onto the market fairly often

Thanks for that. Any MclF1 will be relatively rarer down here in NZ because we are so much smaller, but that sounds like a reasonable price to me. Thanks :)

Tough one that - It's a minichamps, so a decent model; some have gone for £100+, some for only £35+ - a wide spectrum for just the one model, although they may be fibbing a bit when they say one has sold for £240....

I thiught that was a bit high lol, I can't afford to spend that much :)
The starting price is about 45 pounds, so you reckon a bit more is fine?

£240 is absolutely insane price for that Minichamps #59, even in mint original box&carton. Even pre-financial-crisis they went well below US$ 200/£150/EUR 160, but now typically way below £60. During last week there has been at least three such hammered on eBay: first went for 45,51 EUR and was the rarer BMW dealer edition (#140465770296), second went for 22,72 EUR (#180576325730) and last for 43,94 EUR (#220684751045). All in original boxes and cartons. ;)

In euros it's still ok, but already a bit high in pounds. But if it's a local trusted seller I'd say it's still ok. You also have to count in the shipping differences.

Shipping is about 2 pounds, so not a big deal. I will bid for it and see if i get raised.
