Hello All!

It's your old buddy Jack, from the shores of the North Coast. Cleveland! No Browns jokes, please. I am replacing the front linkage from the control arm to the sway bar (or stabilizer bar if you want to get technical) on my 1999 Buick LeSabre, 3.8l, 199000 miles, white with blue interior, with a few presents on the hood from a passing flock of pigeons!

Anyway, is this a straightforward job? It looks like two bolts gets the old one off and pop the new one in. What do you think?

Again, Thanks to all who respond, you guys and ladies ROCK!

Jack

Jack up both sides if you can and get the old ones off. They used some kind of flat nut on a plastic spacer. It was hard to get hold of and turn off because the stud through the middle of the plastic spacer had rusted away.

I used inexpensive replacements from Autozone. I put on in the swaybar and then lowered my jack a little to feed the bolt through the lower control arm.

I replaced the links on both of the Lesabres I had. The last 2 I put on did not require the plastic sleeves. I believe they left them off because they didn't really do anything except trap moisture. They don't take very long to install.
