moving decals

quickie:

I've placed my ferrari decal slightly off center!!! :runaround:argh!

how do i move it just a wee bit?

I applied future right before i applied the decal.

your solutions are infinitely appreciated!

Usually there is no solution on moving decals after they're placed and dry. You can try wetting the decal again to see if it will move, but usually they won't. I think there is some liquids out there that can help you. Hopefully someone can inform us.

Soak the area in ammonia for awhile and it should loosen up. Ammonia will not affect the underlying paint unles it is Tamiya Acrylics(Bottle X numbers)

Microset MIGHT work sometimes - use a brush and try to get under the edge carefully.
You can also try to polish it off, if you have a replacement and your layer of Future under the decal is thick enough to prevent you from sanding off the colour.

Yeah, a smal flat brush would work. I've used one of those firm orange kind. (I forgot the name...) Take enough time to moisten the decal with water (like lay a small piece of moistened Kleenex or paper towel). After a few minutes, gently move a moistened brush along the edge (instead of toward the center) until a part of the decal lifts up. You can repeat that on other sides, and progress toward the center little by little from all sides.

Ammonia dissolves Future and does not hurt paint. Why did you use alcohol?
The people here have allot of experience, it would behoove you to take their advice or don't bother asking for it.

dint have windex or glass cleaner on hand... tried using vinegar to no avail
used warm water... dint budge...
