95 explorer 4x4 issue

I have a 95 explorer with the 4.0. I just replaced the transfer case motor it is the one with the rectangle plug...The old one was completely junk, the new does not work either. I have already checked fuses including the 20amp maxi fuse in the fuse compartment under the hood. I dont have a wiring diagram so i dont even know where to start. The light on the dash says its in 4x4 when i flip the switch but the motor does nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
