i have a 1996 suburban 5.7 1500. if i replace the tps does it need to be calibrated and if so how is that done. thank you. mark.

My '98 service manual has no refences for calibrating the TPS after installation. Just pull the old one and put the new one on.
Usually a TPS will throw a code if bad.

WHEN REPLACING THIS PART the manufacturer of that part will insert this "MAY require recalibration."
most times this is not the case.
ON other vehicles this would require a special scan tool . not sure on this older type.
what was the reason for this replacement ? tps dtc ?
