How many miles?

When you say you have to have more rpms, how many are we talking about?

You said you changed the fluid and filter, right?

240,000 miles seems like motor is going but tranny is slipping a bit ive had tranny slippage before with a different car this doent seem exactly like that its more like the motor has the power but tranny doesnt until its up to about 30 mph ....yes trans fluid and filter changed

At 240K you might just need a transmission rebuild. I'd take it to an auto parts store and see if they can get any codes out of it....if everything is correct, then I'd guess a mechanical issue in the trans. If that's the case you could probably drive it awhile, but it would leave you on the road eventually.

i would look into a failed govenor pressure sensor and solenoid those are classic symptoms and its a pretty easy fix if you have a scan tool to use its makes diagnosis a snap otherwise its change the parts and hope for the best but thats where i would go with it
