Son replaced a starter, but got the starter sonenoid wire caught in the starter and bell housing.
straightened that out , but now it won't crank. good battery, The ETAX shutdown relay? just clicks constantly. what is the relay and what does it do? could it be part of the problem now? any help will be appreciated.

If you turn the key and hear repeated, steady clicks from the starter than the battery is probably low on charge.

The EATX relay powers the transmission control module. Doubt that's associated to no starting. It sounds more like Airjer's thoughts may be the problem. Clicking relays is a sign of weak power. You say the battery is good. What makes you say that? I would get a set of jumper cables and jump start the battery. If it starts, have your battery charged or replaced.

thanks for the info. but no help. Battery is fully charged , specific gravity is good , 13 volts and tests good with a load monitor. The clicking is coming from the power distribution center, not the starter solenoid. no power to the solenoid, when you turn key to start.
starter relay in pdc tests good, fuse under dash is good. Is there another fuse ,relay or solenoid In the starting system?
