Paint Mismatch Question

Hope someone can help me out.

My 2001 Dodge Ram Sport had some "minor" damage in a recent storm. The hood got dented as did an area behind the the right rear tire on the bed side panel. Insurance covered 100% repair and I took it to a very reputable shop, got a new hood and the panel dent was repaired. The work was to include blending of the paint (Bright Silver Metallic) into both front fenders, the area on the bed panel was about 1 foot square so blending didn't have to go very far. The hood, two fenders and side panel were then given a clear.

Problem: All the panels that got new clear are now noticeably darker than the rest of my truck, especially when viewed at an angle and even more especially in lower light situations. I was told that it was simply a matter of fresh paint vs. old paint and that nothing could be done.

My tricked out truck now looks like crap. I've taken this to Cruiz-Ins and audio install shows in the past, now I'm embarrassed to take it out of my driveway.

I'm thinking something got done not quite right but don't know enough to be able to challenge them.

Or maybe I'm wrong and I now have a turd truck.

Looking for information from people way above my pay grade (you all).

Thanks!
