I just bought a 2000 Blazer that the previous owner thought had the rear end going out. When I went to get it, the battery was dead and she said that there had been electrical issues as well. After market radio just laying in the dash with some wires taped and some not.Charged up the battery and got it started.Drove about 75 feet trying to hear the rear end when I thought it sounded like it was in 4X4 mode.Pushed the switch, no indicator lights on.Had it towed home. Also found that the odometer and speedometer were not working and the temp and fuel gauges were innacurate.Checked all the I/P and U/H fuses.Radio and cigar fuses were blown.Replacing these took care of the gauge and speedometer problems. When I first started after replacing the fuses, the 4X4 high indicator was lit.I hit the 2 high button, heard a click and the 2 high indicator lit up.Since then , most of the time all indicators are off, every once in awhile I can get the 2wd indicator to work.I removed the switch, there is a two wire connector on the bottom with power at one wire and a larger connector above that one(maybe 8 wires but I didn't count) 1 wire has power to it(brown) My test light did not light up at any of the terminals while I tried to operate the switch. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

The transfer case control switch has a logic module built into it and using a 12v test light can damage it unless the tester is "digital safe". Best to use a digital volt meter to test it.
