Anyone out there know how to reset the sevice air bag light. I have an 03 GMC Z-71 and the light came on while driving down the road. After a short time it went out. Now it stays on all the time. HELP

You cannot reset, it it is telling you something is wrong, it must be scanned with a scanner capable of reading SIRS codes.

The air bag system does a self test every time you start the car and reports the results by shutting out the light if it passes. You have a failure somewhere. I replaced a system in my sons car with used parts and was not able to find anyone but the dealer who could diagnose the codes. It seemed to me the manufacturers do not like to share much on air bags. You could try a body shop as they have to replace bags from accidents.
