Does anyone have an opinion on any of the vacum type brake bleeding pumps. I never seem to have an extra hand when I need to do this.

I use my hand pump to do a rough bleed, but I've come to learn it isn't as good as a foot-on-the-pedal bleed. You can't suck the air out with as much force as the foot pedal method. I also frequently have trouble getting a good seal between the pump tubing and the bleed fitting....always see bubbles and can't tell if it is sucking the air in between the tubing and fitting or through the threads between the fitting and brake cylinder/caliper.
The one-man bleeder systems are better if set up right where you fill a container half full with new fluid, attach tubing to the bleed fitting and immerse the other end into the fluid. Having a second person is better since you can close the fitting after removing all the air and the brake is depressed.
