I got a ticket

I was going home last night from visiting my grandma's house, when I got a police officer following me. He followed behind me for about 1.5 miles, then when I got like 3 car lengths away from my house he turns on his lights. I was pissed. He pulled me over because I had cobra eyes on the lude. They said it was illegal to have red, green, or blue. White was o.k. I have had these on my car for 3 years now. I get followed all the time and he pulls me over for this now!!!!     Sorry I had to vent.
For anyone that is about to hate on the cobra eyes or call it rice keep it to yourself. It was what I wanted at the time, so call it what you want.

It sux that u got a ticket but that law is a good one because here in my state there have been quite a few car jackings because people put those color lights on their cars and then they turn them on pretending to be undercover police officers and pull people over and then car jack them.

i was thinking of the BMW rings.
but on a lighter note, me and my boys hooked up three strobes on the front of my friends 85 grand prix, a red, white, and blue one. we saw his father on the way home from work so we pulled him over:p :frog:

I had white ones and never got bothered. Anyone who pulls over cause they see washer leds behind em is just plain stupid.
(I still have em, but one of them burned out so they are disconnected)
And anyone who bags on you in this thread is stupid, because 3 years ago they were still cool and thats when you got them. ;)

I can safely say everytime I got pulled over I did something that grabbed his attention except for the time I was pulled over purely for a burned out lic plate light. That was pure harassment. The cop was asking me all these bunk questions about if im on perolle and where im coming from or where im going and all this shit. Worst part is I was about 3 blocks from my house, after he tailed me for approx 1/2 mile looking for me to do something stupid.

Dude, the last time I got pulled over was for my blue neons in my old 91 hatchback, in the hatch area around my stereo. I had no tint on, so it was crystal clear. I was comming home from work, and I passed right in front of 2 county sheriffs. They both pulled me over (at the same time... I guess they were having a doughnut break together or something), and right when I looked in my rear view mirror, I saw them start to pull up behind me. I had my neons wired to a switch so I turned them off. Right when I get pulled over to a stop, the one officer was like why did you turn off your blue neons? I was like, I dont have any, Hoss. He was like dont lie to me... I said ok, cuz I saw you. He then said I could bust you for 3 things... 1) your exauhst 2) your neons and 3) your system (I was listening to BIa Bia slowed down... anyone that has heard that song by Lil Jon slowed down knows it SLAMS! :D ). When he took my license away and walked back to his car, he then turns around and says, turn your blue neons on real quick... he wanted to see how visable they were from outside the car. As I reached for the switch, I accedentaly hit my headlight strobes ( VERY bright, and fast flashing... just like the real police ones). I was like OH SHIT!... I turned them off as quick as I could, and hit the neon switch. I dont think he or is butt buddy officer ever cought me doing that cuz their curzer lights were going, and them might have thought that it was there lights... that would have sucked if they cought that. :silly2:

Yea, i got pulled over a long time ago for having green cobra eyes on my car. I got pulled over twice within 3 days for it, and both cops were cool about it though. I went back to their car and sat in the passenger seat while they wrote the warning, so I was like, hell if im gonna sit back here while he writes a warning, im gonna ask him some damn questions. So I ask him about the whole light laws and shit. They said that you cannot have lights coming from the front of the car unless they are white or amber, and any lights inside or undercar you cannot be able to see the light source, they both said that Oklahoma doesn't give a fuck if you light up the whole damn street, just as long as you don't see the bulb they can't do anything on it. And also they said its usually not the locals they say anything about lights and shit, just the countys and shit.
Needless to say, right after I got pulled over the 2nd time for them, i went home, popped the hood, and cut the wires. This was a yr or so ago. And I still have the cobra eyes on my car, just no wires. I don't know where my stock ones went, so they are filling the void. Hell, i don't even have windshield washer motors or the bottle anymore, never used the shit so i took it out.

I had a '90 AWD Turbo Talon, and I had those washerlights on em, I wanted them, I don't give a fuck about who says there cool or not. Hell, now that they are supposedly not "in" anymore, I just bought a set for my honda like 2 weeks ago, and put them on a swtich this time. Anyone who thinks it was rice can suck my ass 'cause I would smoke their sorry car anyway-I miss that car, I know I'm a honda man now, but I miss my turbo awd, they are just so much faster; easier.

And they are ALL assholes, trust me, I can recognize like every cop in this town. One cop even pulled me over for yes, my exaust SOUND! I was at a stop light at like midnight, and pulled away pretty quick, and I didn't realize it was a cop about 50 yrds back. I didn't do anything else illegal, he pulls me over like 1 block from my house like they usually do, and says, "you know that exaust is illegal" SUCH CRAP! He said it "amplifies the sound of the motor" and TECHNICALLY it does not, if the muffler wasn't on there it would be louder than hell! am I wrong? IT'S CALLED A MUFFLER GENIUS!

i don't know what the decibel limit is there, but in washington i think it's 95 dbs. so if your car makes any kind of noise, whether it be your system or exhaust, and it's 95dbs or over they can bust you for noise pollution.
sastanley

95 decibels is pretty damn loud...anything over 90-92 is damaging to your hearing I think...anything around 95-100, I don't think you can stand to be next to it and stay there without your ear drums being in serious discomfort :(

i think your putting it a little low there, i think its 130 db that is damaging to your ears, because 90 db is quiet man. I remember reading the 130 db thing off a Rockford Fosgate box.

If a cop pulls you over for the exhaust being too loud the best thing is to ask him how loud it is MOST of the time they don't have the equipment to measure the decibel levels i have been pulled over twice for my exhaust, and I got off both times because I asked them how loud my exhaust was and they couldn't answer, also In the county I live in not only are there strict noise level laws but it is illegal to have an aftermarket exhaust system on your car, which is COMPLETE BULLSHIT, especially since there was no exhaust system on my car when I bought it.

ok just for the record, i used to be a lifeguard and worked with a cop, and he gave me a vehicle code book, i have read over it a million times, if any of you want to get out of a ticket, i would be the one to get you out of it, first off: i dont know about where you are from but, in california, if a cop follows you for more then 2 blocks is is considered harrassment, they arent aloud to do it. i have had 12 tickets and only gotten busted for three of them. look into that followig thing. and here is a story, i got pulled over for 82 in a 65,( i knew damn right i was caught so i didnt say anything) the cop was being a dick so i told him he needed to get a life, so he told me to pop my hood, i told him no he needed a warent, he said your right, and reached into my car and popped the hood, and wrote me up for everythinggg, engine mod, intake, header, disconeted smog deveice ( still dont know what that is) and exhaust. i went to court and told the judge and the ticket was thrown out and the cop was sited. hahahahahaha i win. and as for most states, for cops in court,( you all must know this) no show, no ticket. the trick is to plead not guilty and reschedule, and then reschedule two more times after that (walking in to the window, say its for work or something) and then 99% of the time the cop doesnt even find out. it works, trust me.

oh yeah and about exhaust and desipiles, desipile meters are 2000 dollar machines, and they dont supply them in the squad cars, so 76_cobra is right, that is a sure fire way to get out of a ticket, i have gotten out of three of those for that.

He never gave me a ticket, he came back to the car after checking my license and said "ok you have a good night" and that's it, I hate this town! Cops just want to fuck with you! And if that 2 blocks thing is true, them omg! I could've gotten away with a lot of shit! I had one follow me for more than a mile or 2-3mins before pull over; easy.
Matter of fact! Taillight covers (blackouts) are illegal in florida, and you get a warning or ticket if you got em on-Well the night before this happend, i was going down a main street in my town bout 11:30pm thumping in my Camaro, yep 1990 5.0. Had 2 mmats wavedrive 15's and 1200watt classD memphis amp and there was no one else around, the sound was prolly echoing off the buildings, and there were 2 cops parked in the post office, right when i saw them, prolly bout 40 yards-50yards away, I turned it off. I was saying "oh shit oh shit they heard that shit" I had my buddy behind me in a miata, I got about 1/8th mile away from the main street my buddy behinds me lives off of, and they started to pull out-It was about 3/4 of a mile down that main road over hills and turns, so once I hit the corner on to the road I dropped it and kicked it hard all the way to his road, my buddy saw what I was doing and joined, well he didn't keep up very well, I pulled in the street, hauled ass up to his house and pulled the e-brake as I was opening my door and getting the key out of the ignition when my friend and the flashing lights started comming-you on the edge of ur seat yet? :P I jumped out the car and ran into the backyard which is surround by 7ft wood fence, I waited for about 5 mins, and jumped over the back fence, and ran across that main road we came down, and I dipped out like a fugitive to my dad's house which was about 1/2 mile away. And my friend called me later, and said everything was cool, they just wrote his ass up for every possible thing they could get him on, they were like "your buddy just left you with all the responsibility" and even gave him 2 tickets for having somewhat BALD REAR TIRES! 44bucks a tire =P it ended up being around 200 bucks worth of tickets. Ok, the whole point of that story is that this story starts the next day
I was about to cross this intersection, and a cop passed infont of me (he's going east if I'm going north) and when i passed through the intersection the cop does a 180 and starts following me all the way to my house about a mile away. She said she pulled me over because I had blackouts. Well, how could she possibly see my blackouts when she crossed infront of me!?!?!? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
funny thing was, once I got pulled over, the backup officer was a guy at the scene last night, and he was like "so your hands feel good after jumping that fence?" (there was some bums that live on the hwy that told on me) and I was like "yea they feel pretty good" and so on and so on-so basically they pulled me over just so they could talk to me about the night before, more like harrass me about it.

A Douglas County teenager who graduated from high school with distinction last week is facing jail time and a hefty fine for putting blue lights on her car.
The lights, known as Cobra Eyes, are popular with teenagers who use them as decoration.
Devon Cook, 18, drove with the lights on her car for two years before being stopped by a Douglasville polie officer.
"He was like, ‘Do you know why I pulled you over?’, “No sir, was I speeding?’ [I said], ‘No, there's blue lights on her car [the officer said].’"
The officer gave Cook a ticket for operating an unauthorized vehicle with blue lights. Last week, after trying to plead her own case in Municipal Court, a judge found her guilty.
"I got a $800 fine, six months probation, 40 hours community service and 24 hours jail time," Cook said.
"She doesn't deserve to go to jail for this. I can't imagine my daughter spending a night in population with real criminals," Alicia Cook, Devon’s mother, said.
To keep Cook out of jail, the Cooks hired attorney John Sherrod to file an appeal. Sherrod said Devon did not break the law.
"The car has to be equipped with a device capable of producing flashing or revolving lights and as you know, from looking at the car, those are just small blue lights that neither flash or revolve," he said.
The Cobra Eyes lights can be purchased at most auto parts stores. They sell for about $10 and they do come with a warning right on the package which reads, “May not be legal for street use, check with your local city/state ordinance.”
"I checked with my resource officer at school and he said they weren't illegal," Devon Cook said.
Her mother also checked with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
"She was not trying to break the law or impersonate a police officer or anything," Alicia Cook said.
Douglasville City police said the officer who wrote the ticket used his discretion. The judge who decided her punishment said he could not comment while the case is on appeal.
11Alive checked with a number of law-enforcement agencies across Metro Atlanta on the legality of the lights. Some consider the Cobra Eyes illegal while others do not.

Every once and a while a cop MUST recalibrate their radar, so if he hasn't done that then it can clock your car at the wrong speeds.

any slight flaw in a ticket should get it thrown out in court, even if the date is wrong.
