Dakota transmission won't budge

I have a 1995 Dakota Sport 4x4 with 3.9 engine, 5 speed manual trans.
I believe the throwout bearing is bad as it was making noise when down-
shifting. It got to the point very quickly that the clutch wouldn't disengage.
After removing the driveshaft, and transfer case, I unbolted ALL of the
bolts that hold the trans to the rear of the bell housing and the trans will
only separate 1/8 of an inch from the housing. It will NOT come any further.
What could be holding it from coming out?
