:( that was harsh,
it wasnt perfectly good to begin with i found it in an alley all scraped to pieces the chain, rear spring, deraillurs, rims, tires and cables are all brand new or almost new. i should post a pic of all the kids that live around here that ride choppers because theyre gaining popularity. i remember the same thing happening when imports hit the scene so im not angry just dissapointed.

Good mountain bike?
As a 'retired' elite mountain bike racer I find the term 'good' to be pretty generous when applied to any Walmart brand bike.
LownSlow, my only concern with what you have done there is whether the headtube welds will survive the additional strain you are placing on them....other than that, I like the idea

Noted, I've raced mountain bikes also. You don't need a mountain bike in Chicago anyway, and it doesn't belong in the modeling forum.

yeah i know, but many AF modelcar members (including me) don't watch other sub forums than the car-modeling.
the car-modeling sub forum is so huge we deserve a 'stand alone' forum
with a off-topic section :D

.. and let me add on... the bike he mad is consider art...just maybe not automotive so i think it deserves a place here!
not trying to start a war with anyone...

thanks endless i needed that. i just wanted to show you guys my other hobby but if youre gonna bash then forget it i wont do it again. i know everyone has another hobby other than cars. at least i do and i wouldntve bashed any of you for it.
Veyron,im moving near wrigley field, i do need a mountain bike in chicago thats how i run yuppies of the sidewalk. dont expect me to stop if i see you crossing a sidewalk(you made a harsh coment it is right that i do the same):bandit:
Now for the 'practical' part I wonder, don't you slide off the bike while racing around? i cant i have a sissy bar and a banna seat that stop that from happneing(not like it did in the first place)

i agree

i chose this frame for that very same reason and yes the head tube will survive(look how its welded), but bearings are standard repair procedures,
As a 'retired' elite mountain bike racer I find the term 'good' to be pretty generous when applied to any Walmart brand bike.
LOL but not all of us can afford the 200 to 1600 bikes thats like going out and buying a 25,000 car(im the one to talk i blew 700 bucks building a lowrider.)

I am an engineer, I can tell you that the factory welds on the Walmart bikes is a little questionable, I can't tell whether you have done any additional reinforcing looking at the photo.
What you seem to forget is the whole headset design of that bike is so that it will take a load in a certain direction, by changing the head tube angle like you have you are changing the loads on the welds around the head tube which is why I expressed that concern.
I don't want to read about a fellow AF'er who's bike broke and turned him into a human ke-bab;)
$1600 on a bike? Who would pay that  :p

Hey, I never physically threatened you, buddy, and I didn't say anything about you posting a thread in the other model forum because it has always been an anything goes type forum. And be careful what you say about, and how you treat yuppies because it's likely that's who you'll be working for when you grow up.

I'd like to see you ride it.:D
I think it looks like you would fall of or look weird.
I think you would look a little funny riding in that peddling slowly going at around 2 miles per hour. :lol2: I think you would look like a little kid pretending his bike was a motorcycle.
I don't mean to be harsh like Veyron even though I agree with him.
Interesting what you did, but I wouldn't be caught dead riding one of those in the street.
You did a good job making it though. :D
Sorry if I sounded offensive. Some times it seems that way but I don't really mean it unless I really mean it. :finger:

I agree with the others and have to say it looks great.
very creative but looks like it would be hard to ride, plus it looks a little weak right where the fork hits the tubing.
BTW, i think that were all entitled to our opinion, but not negative ones, i mean wtf guys he did something different, just because half of you would be able to, or ever would build something like that isn;t any reason to put his work down. how would you like it if you built something and some told you all bad and shitty things about it.
I just think you guys should "THINK" before you post negative comments.

I guess, it's not right.
But we do it to each other anyway. I know how it feels. People laughed and said my supintegra was stupid. Which is halfway right, I've trashed the project. :D
I guess we all taste bad critisism sometime or another.
And another thing, I think sometimes we have to a speak what we really think, bad or good. Unless it's really bad. ;) And you have to say it straight foreward.

im going have to disagree and say that the reason you stop the suprainteg project was because, when you showed it to people the were scared to see somethign out of the ordinary and the laughed and said bad things, which in turn left you to leave the project, feeling rejected to work on it anymore.

I also didn't do it well. I could have done beter.
Maybe If I did better I wouldn't have trashed it.
I learned a lot building part of it.
I also stopped becuase I'm going to use the engine bay from the supintegra to put in the SAS integra.
I modified the engine bay so I could fit the V6 Twin Turbo from a stealth kit. Now I got two engine bays.
I'll probably use the other one for a curbside kit.
I've already switched the engine bays. :D

i didnt mean to treaten you like so, i was really wired about your comment for some reason it drove me up the wall. i could care less about yuppies the job im getting we get to rip them off(Body shop/engine repair/towing lot)

Bah, see no i see yours as a bunch of good questions
I'd like to see you ride it. (done it)
I think it looks like you would fall of or look weird. (i could care less about weird i just wanne freak people otu and show them bicycle evolution) (i added a bannana seat with a 3 foot high sissy bar)
I think you would look a little funny riding in that peddling slowly going at around 2 miles per hour. I think you would look like a little kid pretending his bike was a motorcycle. (2 mph is slow most of the 10 speed choppers in our crew go up to 35mph. arent we all little kids so it dont make much of a difference there.)oh yeah and jesse james aint no little kid he has a few of his own)

3 questions...
1. how do you manage to stay on the seat with an angle like that
2. Can you pop-a-wheelie easier? :p
3. Why?
It's like putting daytons on a dirtbike :bloated:
EDIT: After reading all the replys, this one might seem a wee-bit harsh as well. I did'nt mean to be harsh, just wondering some things, that's it:) . It's cool what he did with it, it's creative and well... wierd, but in a good way :p

1. how do you manage to stay on the seat with an angle like that
re angle the seat so that its horizontalor use a bannaseat(which i did after i took the pic)
2. Can you pop-a-wheelie easier?
done it on my other chopper but havent tried on this one
3. Why?
why not i owned every kind of bike there was bmx, lowrider,10 speeds. i didnt get bored of them i just saw too many people riding the same brand, color, and style of bike. i wanted to stand out above the rest with something out of the box. out came the chopper. we are a very small minority in the pedal pushers group were also known as the recyclers (rats)we build most of our bikes from junk.

Built almost everything eh? Ever see those hooked up quads with the rear tires extended further back? Try that one  How bout a car steering wheel on a bike... we used to do that back in the days  How about putting pedals on the rear wheels... like the pedals on the front of a tricycle. It would probably be hgard to ride it, but if the seat was low enough, it mihgt be easier. Got another idea... you know how the front wheel is inbetween the forks right? Well... how about putting 2 wheels outside the forks, that way you can have the bike really low, but you would need a suspension so you can turn.
:D
