Not as peppy??

Just last year my truck (2004 silverado) was an extremely peppy truck. It was very responsive and would take off like a jet. Now, It seems as if there is a half second delay to when i hit the gas and then when it starts to accelerate. It also doesn't seem to accelerate as fast as it used to. Since then I have put a brushguard on it and the tires have been worn pretty slick (i will replace them soon!). Anybody have any ideas on how I can get the pep back? thanks!

check the fuel pressure , it is possible its running lean. fuel/air filters replace. Injector cleaners like techron is what I use every 2-5,ooomi.

remove the O2 sensors upstream and leave the hole open , see if the hesitation and low power go away.

this can indicate a restricted exhaust with your issues ..
