A/C fan problem with 94 cavalier

When i turn on the a/c, the cooling fan does not come on at all. Also, there is no refrigerant in the system due to a leak. I thought this would have no effect on the fan not turning on. OR is this typical?

thanks.

I believe there is a cutout sensor that protects the compressor when there is low refrigerant. And the fan and compressor are on the same circuit. So when the compressor is cutout, so is the fan. I have a leak too. I found out because I'd charge the system and it would run for a short time. When empty of refrigerant, the fan stopped working. After I get my engine etc all back running again. I'll fix this leak too.

When I get to it, probably next weekend. I'll tell you what I did. I suspect for me its the hose that runs across from the accumulator to the compressor. It has a funny bend when it wraps around and goes into the compressor. Seems kinked.

Can you take a picture of your trans and drive shaft connection from underneath? I've posted but no answer yet. I just need to see if mine is seated right and /or if I'm missing a cover? I'm having trouble with the passenger side.

Ok sounds good. and i believe the problem with my leak lies within a broken or warped seal, because all the lines are aluminum so they wont rust or crack, so my problem is most likely a seal. but let me know what your problem is, that would be great to know.

and my car is not rear wheel drive, so i wont be able to help u there, and i will try to steal my friends camera and take a pic of my tranny, i dont have a camera yet lol.

I am referring to the front wheel drive half axles. Didn't mean drive shaft. Its the half axles connection to the trans. Look at my post referring to the passenger side half axles trans. Recent post
