could you drop a 427 into a 91 rs? what would you have to do to make it fit?

For mechanical purposes, it should just drop in, and bolt up, if you have a standerd 350 bell housing...not sure, but 99%.
Second thing is you would have to pull your computer. I dont believe you can computer controll it.

I was wondering about doing the same thing.
I always liked the 3rd gen camaros...
but how strong is the 91 frame? How much hp could it handle without bending?

yeah a big block will go in a thirdgen, the headers are the hard part, ull need a big block tranny or a bell housing for a big block manual tranny, a stock T5 definitly wont handle the torque, neither will a 10 bolt rearend. KABOOOM!

Well, I know what you're saying but truth be told theres no real such thing as a Big Block tranny or Bellhousing. All TH350's, TH400's, 200R4's, 700R4's, 2-Speed Powerglide's, M-21's, M-22's, T-5's,T-56's etc etc. All fit the Chevy small block and big block.
What you're saying is basically make sure you've got a built up tranny to handle the power, which is true cause the stock tranny will not like you after about 2 or 3 launches. :)

Yeah I'd be looking at the G-force GF-2000.
It's a v-gate shifter.
I believe it's supposed to handle 1600 hp, and I would want to make use of most of that ability.
But you're totally right, if your trani isn't strong enough...

KABOOM!
I would be mostly concerned with bending/damaging the frame of the car it's self under the strain of about 1200 hp,
since I don't know what kind of stress that frame could actually take and all...
But anyway, I got to do some school now...
Thanks a lot

Your kidding, right? Pro-Stock cars make 1300, do you think driving a Pro-Stock car on the street would be fun? Maybe for about 5 miles. When my Camaro was pushing 550 it was too much to handle as street tires do have their limits...

With a stick, my car's unibody spot-weld seams started splitting at around 450. Having the seams fully welded and adding weld-in subframe connectors have kept it tight under grueling punishment for over 4 years...
Hurst makes a complete swap kit with headers for a big-block-to-3rd-gen conversion....
