pros- less messy
cons- dont like to keep switching b/w forums, hard to keep track of the newer threads
all in all, im not too fond of the subforum. i think i felt alot better with the 1 forum thing.

I like the subforums better. This way the forum doens't get too crowded even on its busiest days. Plus all the tips and questions are kept on one forum for easy viewing.

I like it. this was an effective way to slow down the thread turnover rates while not breaking up the forums too much.

I like it; it's just been kind of tedious movingold threads to their proper place but it's cool!

I like it so much I think we should have more of them. Subforums for tech q/a, clasifieds, show/contests and maybe even a general b.s. one just for good measure.
Then of course people would have to click their mouse a few more times...may be too much for them to handle.
Seriously...IMO it has improved this site tremendously.
Now how can we go about getting permission to put our own pics in the Car Model Gallery?!? :D

I feel exactly the same way about the subforum. Works well with me. Now we can all check to see what projects are going on and not view every single thread to see if it leads to a project. Does this make sense? Some titles/ topics are misleading at times.

It's as easy as one click away to the next forum, and everything's less cluttered. Seems fine to me.
And what is up w/the lack of email notifications? I had a P/M from someone and didn't know about it for almost two weeks!

As with everything, it takes time getting use to new stuff.
For the moment, it looks fine and better organised.
If AF wasnt fast expanding, dont think we need subforums.
But with the rapid influx of new members, with it more threads, I really think the subforums are the way to go.
Your project will take less hits as if that will bother you, I hope not.
If members were really interested they would click on them just as they would previously. Whats 1 click away extra? Wont kill them or you.
I think the advantages outweigh the cons for now.

I love it, for me I think it's sooooo much better, I want to see another
one, for Meets so we can have more threads like the Skyline Meet Thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t74956.html) , Lets face it the search never works very well or not at all, so with a Meets thread it would help us all out when looking for threads on particular cars, Say a Supra Meet, 350Z Meet, S2000 Meet and the other popular builds.
Just and Idea

I think you guys did a hell of a job !
I think it's a great new feature, having all the progress and completed threads in one subforum limits the amount of junk-threads in this forum and you will be able to follow the interesting threads easier.
The downside is, as somebody mentioned it, you will get less hits, but hey, I don't mind, I prefer it like that and very clean
Also , I owuld like to take the time to thank the moderators, who did a great job in moving the treads (and are still moving them, I think)
They did a quick, reliable and good job,
so mods, thanks a lot for this improvement of the forum.

I'm mostly interested in other people's projects, so I like the new subforum.
Like someone else mentioned, a lot of the titles are very misleading. Before, I may not see someone's project because it was titled something like "Look at this!".

I like it alot ...very organised!!
just one comment i would like to make! since we have so much tutorial and it is very hard to keep track off... i suggest that we have a subfourm for that too! That way when people are working on their models and are stuck and remebers that there is a thread that talks about their problem! it saves time for them to go search for it!
just my 2cent!;)

I like it!
I look more in the subforum then start reading in the main section. When I spend some time on the net in general and AF in particular, I want to access information easy and quickly. And this subforum allows me to immediately rule everything out which is modeling but not related to progress and finished progress. Otherwise it takes to long going to all the posts. That's why I haven't visited or commented so often lately. But now it's giving me again a more pleasant browsing.
So yes, please keep it now.
Thanks to the mods also who made this happen - transfer of threads etc.
