Could you either measure how thick the wire is or take a pic of it next to a ruler? The main thing I'm wondering is if it's less than 1mm thick. I went looking for wire at electronic stores here the other week, and the thinnest wire I could find (without going to bare metal wire) was around 1.2mm thick, which is way out of proportion.
