Xterra Tube Bumper (http://www.plushfab.com/xtubebumper.htm)
Here is my rear bumper built by Plush Fab (http://www.plushfab.com) . It's still a prototype and there are some things that need to be tweaked about it. Overall I am very happy. Its got some neat little things on it. The pin for the hinge is actually a stock tortion bar. Just dont ask how we finally got the hole through it for the safty clip :bloated:
:o Flame me for my street shoes if you like....Its alot better than using my 34's everyday

Looks like a good start at a bumper!

I'm wondering, is this a work in progress?
I think you are going to need to bring in the wings some, and support it from the frame somehow. I think the first good hit you take it's going to smash the wings into the panels.
Has anyone sawed off the lower parts of the rear panels???
I've always had a couple ideas on replacing the exsisting wings by cutting the lower part of the panels off and adding a skid/bumper underneath the panels....

The yellow represents the new bumper sides, the red squares are the supports the go to the frame. It's a crude representation of my idea but I think you can see what I'm getting at.
The corners would be eliminated so you would have more clearance and less chance that you smash up anything if you did hit something. As I said, this is a crude idea but I think it would work.
I like your bumper man, I just see potential smashy-smashy there...

Yes, its a work in progress, And thanks for the input. I dont know of anyone that has sawzalled the corners off yet. I would like do in the next round of mods for the truck. I do like your idea for the bumper. It would be alot stronger than what I have there now, and the departure angle would benefit alot from that too.
