Problems...

My A4 is a 1998 1.8t that has an apr chip and exhaust. I noticed that after I had done a few 0-60 tests and I was on my way home, accelerating normally that as the rpms went up it would sometimes feel as if it dropped into neutral when i was still in gear. The rpms would go up a lot quicker with no further depression of the gas and no gains in speed. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Do I need to get something fixed? Also...I have pretty much decided to keep my engine setup the way it is because its fast enough for me (maybe in a year or two I will replace the turbo, but nothing for right now), however my car has 74k miles on it and I want to know what I can do to make this thing last me at least 3 years more. I love this car and I don't want it dying on me.

on any car this is due to a transmission problem.
if you've got a manual car, this is surely the clutch that have been too much used and it got to be changed. try starting in second or third speed, if it starts too much easly you've got a problem.

for automatic, there's a problem in your transmission.

if you don't know what it is , i'll guess you'll to get it to a dealer (tithout offend).
