high octane

I have heard that putting a high octane fuel in a car that doesn't require it can hurt the car.
Right now I put in 93...and sometimes 94 and I notice a difference in my car (runs better, that is I think it does?) but alot of people say it isn't needed and doesn't do anything and some even say it can hurt it? What can you guys tell me about this...anything?

If you use a higher octane fuel than the motor is optomized for, not only do you not burn it all, but it can leave carbons inside the engine which is a recipe for disaster and LOWER performance in the long run.
However, with a performance chip, you can take advantage of that higher octane fuel.

However, with a prelude, it requires higher octane fuel.

if you up the octane, you need to run the approriate timing etc. to get everything right...
so it needs to be tuned to optimize the higher octane...
anything higher than recommended is usually overkill
