Auto door lock relay on 1996 Sable

The auto door lock on our 1996 Mercury Sable is not working. The car was side-swiped by a vehicle and apparently caused some sort of short in this. The doors try to lock by themselves, but only ending up draining the battery. We have tried repairing this ourselves, but with no luck. I removed the fuse, which took care of the auto lock problem, but I now am unable to roll my windows door--not a good thing in 90 degree weather with the air conditioning also not working! Is there any way that we can remove the relay for the auto lock, and if so, where would I find this and how should I remove it? Thanks for any help.
