I have a 1996 dodge Neon. Car wont shut off. Had to pull the battery post to kill motor. I replaced the ignition switch and no different. Pissing me off. Car does have an older version of a bulldog auto start, not sure if that is anything to start looking at. What am I missing?

Any mechanics out here with where to look next? Cant seem to think of anything else that could be causing the problem. When I hook the battery up, the dash lights go on, same as with old ignition switch. Assuming I have an open circuit somewhere.

I will do that, or should say look for them. Bought the car with it installed. Makes sense now that you say that though. Thanks. Will let you know how it goes.

The one thing I remember about just before this happend is it was really hot out and my air conditioner was dumping a lot of water on the front passenger floor area. Probably right around where the autostart is mounted. At least hoping as that may be the cause of a sticking relay?

I had a Bulldog remote and the relay to the starter stuck.

Totally different cars I am guessing but where would one start looking for the relay's? Did not see anything in the fuse box that would tie it to the remote starter.

You nailed it right on the HEAD! Was hot wired directly to the battery. took off the lead and it worked like a charm! Thank you so much! If you live in Minnesota, I will buy you a beer sometime! I looked at that wire and never in my life would have thought of that. I have learned something again! What a great site!
