Electric Window Squeel, Squeek, Screech.

My wife's 2002 Alero has been aggravating her for about 6 months now, getting worse. Extremely loud winding up/down. Screeching like someone stepped on the cat's tail. So this morning I decided to fix it.

1. Sprayed glass felt guides with silicone spray sides and top. No Change.

2. Stripped off door panel and sprayed vertical channel and plastic carriages. No help.

3. Removed a metal bracket in middle of panel to get to top and bottom cable guides. (very tight nuts!). Started to removed electric motor gear box - DO NOT DO THIS, at last minute, when the motor twisted under tension I was able to screw back after pouring 50ml of oil in gearbox. Still screeching!

4. Reached in with oil can and oiled bottom left & right cable roller. No go.

5. At Last: Top right cable roller, poured oil over roller and cable guides, from opening in top of window slot. I had already removed the inside felt rail. If I had done step 5 first I would have been done in 15 minutes, not the 90 minutes it took!

Hope this helps someone else with similar problem, should apply to left & right.
