I don't remember taking this off but I know I did. So I don't know what it is and don't even know where it goes . It has a connector too. Some sort of vacuum take off? From the Air filter housing leading from the 'air tube" to the throttle body?
Anyone's help is appreciated

That's the EVAP purge solenoid. There should be a vacuum diagram under the hood that shows approximately where it goes. There will be a metal tab that it slides onto. A think the connector is usually red.
If you could post a year and engine I may be able to help a little more.

I expect to see a tab. Will it be on the Air Cleaner etc assembly or on the firewall somewhere?
and thanks for the help on the other connector.

This may lead to the same connector I have another question on?
On the exhaust manifold side, I see the O2 sensor mounted on the exhaust manifold but I cannot find where plugs into. This is a purple connector. Is it on the filter - throttle body air intake housing? Then there is another orange or maybe its red connector. Is that the one that connects to the evap purge?
The orange-red connector comes out of the harness that connects to the auto trans shift connection. Thanks

Now I found where the connectors go. They connect to each other. Weird? I looked at the exhaust manifold I removed from the old engine when Pulling it out and found the O2 connector different. The original engine has a single wire O2 Sensor . This replacement engine has a 2 wire O2 Sensor and a different type connector. That is why I could not find the mates. So now what do I have? I was going to remove the original O2 Sensor out of the manifold and replace it in the new engine. But that is a lot of work. Why are they different? can I mate the new O2 sensor connector to the original plug? But which wire. I am assumiing either one wire was a dumby wire used in several model cars or that this is a ground? Or ???? Any ideas?

I just switched out my O2 sensor (single wired) , Good to go now.
That evap purge solenoid . That's for the air conditioner? right?
