Porsche 918 Spyder

Greeting,

It caught me eyes when I searching picture on 'Hippy' and found this. So interesting I started to search for more picture. There are tons of picture on net, but wasn't any dimension date on it.

So by looking at the front and side view, it looks alot like Cayman S and Mirage GT, but without the length of the car, I can't build one based on some model...:rolleyes:and yes, I would like to build one.:iceslolan So if of you that happen to see this concept in real life (in geneva showcase), maybe you could help me. The lenght of Cayman S or the length of Mirage GT?

There was an article on the 918 in the UK 'Car' magazine, April issue. Wheelbase is given as 2650mm, overall length 4497mm, width 1928mm, height 1091mm.

Man, that car is incredible looking. Please tell me someone here knows a person at Tamiya that can put a bug in their ear to have this made into kit form. I know its a concept, but it would make a great companion piece to go with the Carrera GT. I already sent an email to Tamiya asking for this to be made. But I'm sure they get lots of requests every year for new kit subject.

Anyway, I too had surfed the net and downloaded some pics in the hopes that it may come into kit form one day and of course being a GT race fan, I'd have to try for one like this...

Since this thing is heading to production and is gonna be on the levels of the Carrera GT in terms of price/limited availability/desirability i'd say it's a sure bet that Tamiya is gonna make a model in 2 or 3 years time ( when the real one seems to have come out ). So if you're not really into trying to scratch build one i'd just wait. If anything it will be a project to convert the road version back into this showcar :-)
