Odometer/trip and overhead console not working

Hey all! I'm new here, and have a question. I did try searching it first and found a bit of info but not all I need...

My digi odometer/trip and overhead console on my 2000 silho went out for a couple minutes yesterday and came back on. Today they're out completely. I ran through all fuses and found one 15 amp (cigar) blown. Replaced it. Odometer now comes on when reading 000000 but as soon as the mileage comes on it fades to black. Still nothing from the overhead...

I'm going to check the overhead today and seal my windshield leaks (though it's been dry here for two weeks...maybe coincidence).

Any advice on any of this? Both went out and came back on at exactly the same time, then went out all together...

I need my odo/trip because my fuel gauge doesn't work (later project LOL)

Thank you!!

I have this same problem on my 2000 silhouette. The fuel gage is wacko and I have no digital odometer. Tell me that is not a good combination. Would love to hear some advise also. Thank You

Those are two separate problems......

As for the fuel gauge, usually one of two things...fuel sender in the tank....or corrosion in the harness to the fuel sender, where it passes through the body....it is located on the driver's side, approx behind the driver's seat, under the vehicle...

Good pictures, especially of the harness connector.......look for "green" corrosion in the harness and also the connector it goes into.....

If you get wild swings or inaccurate readings on your fuel gage, corrosion could be the problem....if there is none, then the likely culprit is the level sender(tank has to be dropped).......our shop has a variable resistor setup....you attach it to the circuit in the connector.....

40 ohms=empty

90 ohms=1/4

140 ohms=1/2

190 ohms=3/4

240 ohms=full
