Hi,
I have a 1990 Honda Civic LX and I have just added a short ram intake.
But I really wanna change the sound of my stock muffler which is almost quiet. I want it a lot louder and a low pitched tone. You know the kind u hear coming out of most HB's.
Well I dont wanna change the piping of my exhaust I just want a different muffler then Ill add a 4" tip later. I cant really afford piping yet.
I also wanna spend less than 100 bucks on a muffler.
Which do you recommend?
cause I think i will go to Autozone and if you can give me some ill ask them to get me one.
thanks.
Owen

if u want the oposite of LOUD, then go for the HKS Sport Exhaust, or the Apexi WS Exhaust

great choises with the HKS and APEXI but blade said only wanted to spend a 100. I would say Borla mufflers are the best for just mufflers. Are you going for aftermarket style or upgraded factory style? either way i'm a borla fan.

If you want a sleeper look, just get a no-name high performance "turbo" muffler from Autozone or your local Midas/Meineke shop. You'll need to know what size your pipe is (I think stock size on a LX is 1.5")...so the inlet to the muffler is correct and the pipe fits. You'll prolly have a difficult time finding a turbo muffler for a 1.5" pipe tho :o
I would recommend saving some money and doing it right the first time, instead of ghetto-rigging some crap on there, just for the sound. I saved up a little money (I really wanted a $400 Thermal R&D stainless, but couldn't afford that when my old muffler finally fell of ;)), and got a 2.25" pipe from the cat-back, left off the resonator and got a turbo muffler. It sounds great, and looks stock, except for the close observer that might notice the larger pipe (with no big-ass tip either.) Total setup, about $260, installed from my local Meineke.
Good Luck with your decision.

Hmm..nah, I went to Cheseldine's by Wal-Mart, and that was for cat-back with muffler (prolly a $40 generic turbo-style muffler, i'll have to check my receipt) - $150 is a pretty good deal. Where is Jeff's Muffler ? ?
