Hey im new here i just have a question concerning my 2004 3.8 liter standard mustang... The cars alternator went bad, so i shelled out the 250 bucks and installed it myself did everything correct, made sure all connections were good and things were in order. The car worked for about 2-3 days perfectly, then all the sudden im on the highway and it completely dies, misfired and backfired so i pulled off the road to check it out, the belt was off the crack shaft about quarter an inch so i put it back on and it turns over but wont start. the plugs have no spark at all and the code we got off it was describing a cam or crank sensor problem... my inital question is, is it those sensors and how do i trouble shoot them? alldata has no information on this that is usefull to me. just curious of what i can do other than let it sit in my garage =)

The crank sensor is down by the crank pulley. Did the belt rub into it?

Not that i can see, its possible but the sensor and the target looks intact although they are plastic.... the cam sensor i have no clue where its at to look at it.
