I have a 1987 Sentra that has been sitting for a long time. Some squirrels have chewed through a couple wires by where the battery sits. I hooked up a new starter and battery and all the lights work and everything but when I go to crank it, nothing happens. So I'm guessing its gotta be them couple wires. Trouble is I can't find a wiring diagram anywhere for it. And it's only 2 wires I need to know what they are. I took some pics, they should be attached. I'm not what you would call mechanically educated, but I'm learning. What is the brown thing the wire is off up? and also behind the front left headlight there is another wire, blue with a yellow stripe, that is broke but I don't know where it goes I can't find any other wire the same color as that. HELP!?!?!?!?

if you don't have a good wiring diagram, best thing to to is start at the problem. Place the car on jack stands, take a test light, make sure you have voltage at the big wire going to the starter solenoid, if that check is good, the next check to do is to make sure that the smaller wire, has voltage with the key in the start position. If those too are good replace the starter. If the big wire doesn't have voltage, trace it back to the battery, if the small wire doesn't, check your fuses. Pay close attention to the color of that wire and try to trace where it goes through the harness.

P.S. You may also want to check the inhibitor switch if automatic or neutral safety switch if straight drive
