Does anyone know what will run rats out of air conditioner ducts. I have a 2003 1500 HD Silverado crew cab with dual automatic climate control. First they built a nest on the engine which caused a fire with a good bit of damage to the wiring & fuel rail. Where does the havac system take in fresh air at? If I could find this I would put some kind of screen over it. I have had to drop the blower motor 3 times to clean out the rat nests. I would like to run them out before blocking the entrance hole. This truck is not driven every day is one reason they have to it. Any help would be appreciated. I have about decided this truck is jinxed. I had it less than 2 weeks when a deer done $4500.00 in damage then the fire was $2000.00 now rats in the air vents.

remove the blower motor, then install the 1/4inch mesh heavy duty rat screen/wire mesh. remove the wipers, then the air intake screen , look for entry areas and block with this screen.
buy some rat posion green blocks, cover with peanut butter and place under the hood in a good spot. you have to kill those rats that have found your vehicle a good place to live , they will come back if not killed..

Thanks for your reply. I have got the blower motor out now. Are you talking about putting a screen over the round hole that the blower goes up in? The way it looks to me the rats can't get past the blower and get into the duct work. Is this correct?

they can squeeze thru very small spaces. the air opening above the blower fan will need this screen.
