Intake Air Temperature Sensor

Hello, my daughter's 99 Mitisubishi Galant shows a SES code of PO110. The local AutoZone store said this relates to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. My service manual tells me it is part of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and cannot be replaced separately.

RockAuto lists the MAF sensor for $196.79 + $43 core for a remanufactured A-1 Cardone sensor compared to a new Cardone sensor that lists for $336.79. This appears to be the best pricing I can find. I haven't yet asked at the local dealership. Does anyone have information to the contrary, and can anyone locate a lower price for this part?

Junk yard? Those things are pretty reliable. Take your daughter and have her pay for the part, they usually cut women a nice deal :)

Thanks, RahX. I did contact the local DIY yard and they have several of the IAT/MAF assemblies setting on their shelf for $50. Much better pricing than $200.
