Bypassing ignition switch

Hello all,

I have a 97 Jimmy that cranks, won't fire, dash lights don't come on but if they do it fires right up. I'm thinking bad ignition switch based on what others have experienced but does anyone know an easy way to bypass the ignition switch so I can see if I need to do all the tear-down to replace it?

When it won't start see if you have power to the pcm and ign fuses, or trace the power out of the ign sw. to the key on only circuits.
