1978 Lincoln continental coupe Rotten soft top.

The bottom side of my rag top is coming apart, near the top of the trunk......I have repaired upholstery inside cars but never on the outside. If I put the effort can I do a good quality job??? I need a website with instruction because i have no idea where to start..

please help
