Hey guys!
Just wanna throw a few pics of WIP enzo im building for a local comp in Brisbane next weekend!
Tho i've been modeling for years this is my first comp and by no means expect to win anything ( people choice would be awesome tho!! )
It's a Tamiya Enzo thats been cut away to reveal the underneath of the panels
I got the idea from another modeler who has already built his version back in 2005, i really liked it and thought i would try it
So first up, the monocoque has some carbon decals, the front compartment will be on show, so some detail was added there aswell
http://images116.fotki.com/v1595/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_1314-vi.jpg
the brakes are P/E and i have added some more detail wires to the calipers
http://images35.fotki.com/v1164/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_1328-vi.jpg
http://images56.fotki.com/v1599/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_1327-vi.jpg
The radiators are p/e and some solder wire was used to replicate the plumbing to the radiators
the battery was also wired and the suspension was also rebuilt and some wire coils were added and some aluminium tube used to replicate the shock pistons
http://images19.fotki.com/v207/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_0034-vi.jpg
The wheels are cut as well to show the detailed discs
The tyres have been cut to match, after cutting the tyres i found they are solid rubber, so i carved them out to make them look hollow
http://images56.fotki.com/v1602/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_1369-vi.jpg
http://images12.fotki.com/v203/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_1366-vi.jpg
all the panels have been cut in half including the front and rear "glass"
http://images110.fotki.com/v572/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_0044-vi.jpg
a little bit of interior detail
http://images110.fotki.com/v571/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_0047-vi.jpg
dry fit
The colour is corsa rosso red i had made up for this project
http://images110.fotki.com/v571/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_0058-vi.jpg
http://images19.fotki.com/v193/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_0057-vi.jpg
http://images19.fotki.com/v193/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_0056-vi.jpg
http://images109.fotki.com/v793/photos/5/1465195/8844239/IMG_1353-vi.jpg
The door and rear compartment will be glued closed also the well known problem with the rear hatch lining up with the rear bumper will be fixed
That's basicly where i'm upto, its due in about 1 week! i still have some plumbing to do, bit more carbon to do
i'll put the finished model up hopfully soon!
My skills are not perfect but the only way to gain skills is to try new things!!

Exactly the way I feel also. I've been wanting to do a cut-away build for a couple of years now but I have never had big enough lug-nuts to start one :D
Kudos for taking the challenge on :worshippy

very nice job so far indeed! what a great idea, epecially on a kit that hides a lot of detail underneath the fniished body which you usually cant see in the end. i must say i love the rotors the most! what paint is that?

I airbrushed those with testors model master metalizer lacquer in the little 15ml ( 1/2 FL.OZ. ) Jar, exhaust is the flavour then used some Alclad pale burnt metal for the centers
What PE set did you use for this?
p/e set is the full set from crazy modeler ep-0037
