'99 G Cherokee security issues?

Hello, I'm the FNG. have a "94 GC and a "99 GC. The problem is the "99 G cherokee 4.7 awd. Shortly after replacing the fan clutch I started having trouble starting the engine. I would turn the ignition on and all of the dash gauges would bounce in sequence and click. If I reinstalled the key and turned iton, after about a minute the guages would reset , the normal dash lights would come on and it would start and run. Yesterday the symptons returned. Gauges bouncing and clicking. I did the same thing, key on waiting for the reset. It worked again except the tach and speedo quit working all together. Today it ran OK so I did a test in the driveway. While the engine was running I pressed the keyless entry unlock button aand then turned the engine off, pulled the key out of the ignition then tried to restart again. No luck- the gauges bounced and clicked for about a minute. Any help? Thanks for listening one last thing- today the odometer read the word "done" for a brief monent and the tach and speedo are now working
