Allllright.
i know the only way to do a swap is to do it yourself
however i would fuck it up, the biggest thing i have done on my crx so far was put in a new rad.
i want to swap a zc into my crx dx. its auto and i wanna know what i'm looking to pay
a) for the engine and any and all parts
b) a shop to do the work
if you don't have the time to respond even a referance site would be great
thanks!

well i got my ZC for about 560 shipped. When i was finished with my swap i had over 3000 in it. But that's because i rebuilt it from the bottom up, having all performance parts in. If you looking just to swap it straight in then i would at least replace the water pump, head gasket, and timing belt.... after the motor... you should be looking to spend about another $200 in parts to swap in.... I have no i dea what a shop would charge since i did mine myself.

-si tranny
-new axels
-timing belt
-water pump
-all other parts for dpfi to mpfi and auto swap
-all labour
-all misc fluids and stuff

Its pretty straight forward.
Check out the web site "the Zc resource"....not sure the exact address.
I DEFINETELY recommend changing:
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Head Gasket (if you have the $$)
You will need:
MPFI system.....
Si Harness
Resistor Box
Si ecu -pm6 (or 89 integ pg7, or Zc pm7)
Si Tranny
Si Axles
HEADER!!! Needs to be aftermarket, for 88-91 Si
I paid about $2000 total for my entire swap. But my car was already an Si, and I got a lot of other items like hoses and radiator, plus I needed a new trans. So, my motor and install was like $1500.
I definetely again will say to do the t-belt and the other items. Mine broke about 8months after install. Thank god nothing got f-ed up in the head. Just remember that the motor only has about 30k miles on it, but it is also 11-13 years old, so it will need some work.

you dont need a header.
you dont need a header.

Right...and also..the "correct" header is a 89 integra top half which already has the ports to match the ZC, and a 90-91 Civic bottom half so that it matches up with the cat. Except I don't know anyone that wants to buy two two-piece header systems to create the correct one, so most people get the 88-91 header and match the ports with a little grinding on the header ;)
Good Luck with whatever you decide. :)

I just did my ZC swap. If anyone know the immense problems that can go wrong it's me, and I know how to fix most of them.

things you will prob. have to pick up..are as follows
TPS (go to a junk yard and pocket a few)
SI throttle cable (just because the dx tends to hang up because its longer)
always safe getting a new water pump/HG/timing belt
New Clutch (im running a ACT 4 Puck on a 89 Si regeared tranny, and if your doing the clutch you might as well do it right..get the flywheel turned..or lightened for that matter)
you might need a teg rad. hose (might)
now since your going from a DX (as i did) you will need to do a new wireharness and run a good ECU (pm7 or pg7)...thats the hardest part of the swap is the harness....other than that..it bolts right up to your stock motor mounts....
