This is what I have set up right now, excluding the sub setup.
These in the doors,
Sony 6 1/2" 4-Way Speakers, 270 MAX, 50 RMS, XSR1643
and this head, Dual XR4110 60 watt MAX, 5 to 15 watts x 4 chans.
Problem is at high volumes the sound starts to get broken up. Tell me if I'm understanding this right.
The pair of sonys combined are 50w, 25w separated since they come as a pair. And the head puts out 15 per chan. Since i only have the pair hooked up the head is putting the other 30 into the sonys which is slightly more power than they are rated for.
If this is the case, would it help split the power up if I installed another pair of speakers?
Thanks for the help/input in advance :)

the problem is you are trying to get too much volume for what you have. If you are using the builtin amp, it's max volume is actually like 30-32 out of 50 or just over half.

Yeah that's basically what I was trying to say-- but anyway, I was thinking about buying a pair of better speakers for the rear and use the fader to shift the balance to the rear more. Any suggestions for the head I have?

I don't care for speakers behind me being as loud as the ones in front of me but if the headunit is a 4 channel amp, it will make a bit louder

True, i would put some bigger speakers in the doors but I don't really want to have to mod the door panels since it's a temp car. The speakers i have in now only barely fit.
