What's the difference between these engines?

I just got my car back from the mechanic today and he tells me that the engine in my '89 CRX Si is not the original Si engine. Under the hood, the engine looks like a D16A6. He said it probably was from a '92 Civic and he said it was a 1.6 Liter.
My question is this - Visually, what is the difference between the D15, D16A6, ZC SOHC, and ZC VTEC? The valve cover simply says "16 Valve - Honda Motor Co.".
Are there any other engines that might fit this description?
Thanx guys

i got the sohc zc motor and the only difference i have ever noticed is the "ZC" stamped in the block engine number. you can find the engine number below the head, just above where the tranny meets the block. Im thinkin you could probably identify it with the number. And im not sure, but i dont think honda ever made a zc vtec.

Whoops, I meant the 92-95 SOHC VTEC, not the ZC VTEC.
Ok, i'll try that. Thanks.

look at the code stamp...
d16a6: 88-91 si motor
d16z6: 92-95 ex/si motor
and the zc will have that stamped
d16a6: 88-91 si motor
d16z6: 92-95 ex/si motor
and the zc will have that stamped

Is the code stamp located above the transmission?

Thanks guys. I found it.
And damn it all to hell, the guy I bought this car from screwed me over. He put a D15B2 in here...
With MPFI, about how many horsepower is the D15?

JDM/Aussie Twin-Carb D15B 16 valves put out 103bhp, so you should be in that territory I'm guessing :)

Even if its only about 5 HP difference, I feel shafted
I'm itching to put a SOHC ZC into it now, but I have no money and I can't do it myself <crap!>
