Is your hood rusted out? I don't know for sure but my answer is no, it wont fit. I think it would be VERY close but the middle part of the hood on the 79's seems slightly taller than the newer models like my 83. But I think the width and length are the same(?)...guess its one of those annoying situations where its so close but just won't work.

I believe 77-79 are the same and then 80-90.

no, just wanted to do some cowl induction on it, but i dont wanna use the original hood and cut a hole in it, i plan on saving all the original parts i upgrade incase i ever wanna restore it back

Good idea, I'm trying to do the same thing. Thats the reason i bought a 2nd caprice because it has some parts that i already screwed up with...like the dash insert that i cut into so i could fit a new radio.

sucks that there are no aftermarket parts companies that give love to 77-90 caprices

sucks that there are no aftermarket parts companies that give love to 77-90 capricesThere are plenty of places online to by body parts for these years. The junkyards remain the best place to find them though due to the huge price difference. Sadly 77-79 is a short list when it comes to trying to find body parts.
