1994 Intrepid dash lights not working, won't start

While driving my 1994 Intrepid (3.3, 256K miles), the dash began blinking while the gauges jumped with the lights, then went dead. Within a minute, the engine died. I have replaced the computer beneath the air cleaner with a salvage unit, checked the ground beneath the dash, and no change. The only lights working on the dash are the oil and door ajar lights. any suggestions? :runaround:
