ZC into 91 civic LX

ok, my neighbor is probably towing home a 91 civic LX sedan tomorrow, he found it with a blown headgasket in seattle and the guiy just wants to get rid of it for 200 bucks, he used tpo work at a body shop and is going to do that himself, and wants to possibly turn a profit on the car, I told him I just pulled my DOHC ZC out and it is for sale and he wants it but wants to know if it will go in, I told him it should go right in with no trouble at all seeing as my engine is from 88-91, but wanted to make sure.

it is an automatic as well. so my ZC will bolt right up to the LX stock auto using the stock engine mount, and the same harness can be used just switching the (yellow and red I think) wires on the TPS and converting the dist. plugs? would the dist out of the stock engine go into the ZC so that that wouldnt have to be done, cuz even before I got thew car, the plugs from the dist were cut and just had wires hanging there, so the guide that shows what pin on ther ZC goes to this one on a civic is useles, unless someone knows the colors of them as well.

my neighbor isnt the problem, I actually have NO problem, just wanna know if the ZC goes into a 91 civic with no problems at all?

wow, when i posted that, the thread just said and i quote

whatever, the ZC will just drop in and bolt right upto the auto-box without hassles, as far as the wiring is concerned, im not sure what you would have to switcha round to make it work.

but check out www.hasport.com tech pages, they have wiring conversion charts there.

cool thanks, and I think he wants my auto now too. he didnt buy the car today, I giuess he is waiting to hear from the guy again, but sounds as if he wants it anyways. but I am gonan get 500 bucks for both, and the engine needs either a CAS or needs it wired up cuz it threw that code 4 and cut fuel at 3400 and I never figured it out, but he says hell follow the wiring schematics in the honda factory service manuals that are like 70 bucks or so he said. the harness in my hatch had a total of 9 wires going to the dist. and the diust had 7 coming out, and the code 4 is no signal or bad sensor, in 88-91 did they have crank angle sensors, maybe thats the prob and the 91 harness and ECU wont be looking for one, but im pretty sure it has one cuz acura dealership told me that the 86-89 integras D16A1's had em.

well, he just towed the car home, he is gonna replace the head gasket on it to drive it first and check if the tranny is good before he starts a swap, but it is a 91 LX, and I was looking at the wiring and do you use the intake manifold off of the D15B2 or what? cuz if he put in the ZC with my intake manifold, I got multi port injection, his is the 1 fuel injector before the intake manifold branches out to each cylinder.

the intake manifold from the D15 bolts up to the ZC(D16) right?

also will his dist bolt up into my ZC DOHC head. are they both driven off the cam by the same technique?

and my last question right now is if he was to put on the old intake manifold on the ZC engine, would the power drop alot from 130HP, 106 ft/lbs.

and if he was to use my 94 CX computer and harness and intake manifold. is there lots of work involved in getting the wiring from the harness to the computer since the wiring from kick panel to engine harness plugs dont support MPFI? also my CX hatch was OBD1 right? and the 88-91 cars the ZC came out of was OBD0? is that why there is 9 wires on the harness to the dist, and only 7 coming out of the distributor. the OBD1 is looking for a sensor that OBD0 didnt have? could it be crank angle sensor? cuz the computer always cuts fuewl at 3400 rpms.
