Building a racing automatic tranny

O.K. right now I'm at a stand still with this new civic of mine. It's an automatic 89 DX. The D15 engine only has 92 bhp (slow as shit), which I plan on giving a "mini me" head swap. My main concern is the automatic tranny. I need to know if it can be built for racing use. If so what parts do I need to get for it so that I can keep up with the manual driven civics. I know that sounds impossible but I think it isn't. Also this is the first time I've owned an automatic so don't throw off on me for having one. I need help guys.

When I said racing use I meant for daily driving and race use on friday/saturday nights up on Highway 70 (the racing spot here in Hickory N.C.)
