98 blazer heat/ac problems

Ok, having twins soon and this is my primary vehicle so any help I can get with this would be much appreciated.
A/C went out a couple months ago, found that the blower motor burned out, replaced it, along with the plug to it which burned up. Once we replace that it wanted to blow heat and a/c through the vents at the same time. At the same time a noise started in dash, found that the Blend door actuator's gears inside were busted, now we have replaced it, but it is still only turning one way. When it tries to reverse itself it still isn't working, like it's getting stuck or not getting the signal to go. About ready to pull my hair out with this one, and like I said I'm having twins soon so gotta have this thing running right. :crying:

Auto or regular AC controls?

Also remove and make sure the new actuator is moving both directions has not stripped gear.
And see if you can flip the blend door by hand.
Sometimes they break and strip and stick and strip new actuators gears.
And see if you can flip the blend door by hand.

Automatic, and yes it can be flipped by hand.

Did it switch hot to cold or cold to hot when you flipped it by hand.
Is changing hot to cold or cold to hot the only problem.
Was it reprogrammed when you replaced the actuator?
Like key off removing the RDO/batt fuse for 30 seconds and installing fuse and turn key on and let it reset and see if it now works?
If none of that works you will need to get a HAVC capable scanner on it to get codes and find the problem.
Post back any codes and.
Let us know how it goes.

It was what you said, it needed to reprogram after the blend door actuator was replaced. We also had to vacuum pump out air from the system so it would hold refrigerant as well. Now everything is working and it's nice and chilly!
