1. G12 if a lifetime synthetic VW coolant and should always be used with all newer model VW's.
2. Dexcool is a ethylene glycol mix with water and a non synthetic coolant.
3. What not to do! Do not mix the coolants together! G12 and Dexcool together turns your coolant into a thick gel form. This gel form will ruin your engine to a tune of $4000. So pay the extra $$ to remain trouble free.
4. Hope this helps.

Hi,
i am the tech manager at Prestone. You can use Prestone extended life coolant in your VW after you flush the old coolant out. Drain, fill with water, run the car and drain again. The use a 50/50 mixture of Prestone extended life coolant, mix only with deionized or distilled water if you are buying concentrate. You will be good for the next 5 yrs or 100k miles.:p

G12 is a lifetime coolant. No need to change at 5 yrs or 100k miles. No need to promote what's not needed!

I've seen G12 advertised around $21 a gallon for the actual Audi product. Lifetime versus 5 years, that is actually cheap. There is also a 1.5 liter size (more than a quart, less than a half-gallon) for around $12 if you just need to top-off.

Thanks 65Comet. My point exactly! My coolant is 10 years old and counting.
