Well its been a while since i posted a project thread on here, been a while since i started a project too but being captivated by Fiat's nouveau 500 i decided to order Fujimi's example. It arrived today so i decided even though i have a lot of unfinished projects i'd try to start and finish this one pretty quickly. It will be my first time to use photo etched parts as well as my first time using zero paints so hopefully things will work out and i can do this little car justice. My chosen colour scheme is Fiat's Ye Ye green with an off white interior.

"verde libero e bello" ????? how stupid can be the persons in charge of choosing the names of the paints...! Verde libero e bello means free and beautiful green.... bah!

The interior of this model looks to be beautifully moulded, especially those door cards!

Looks like a good job by Fujimi!

Beware of the suspension; you must do a lot of work to the suspension or wheels/tires to get them to fit under the car properly. If you build it straight from the box, the front end sits much too high and the wheels stick out way too far. Fat old Pirelli P7's for a new Fiat 500...:screwy:

I ended up going medieval on it...I ditched the brake rotors and used my moto tool to grind the wheels/tires to the point I could glue them in place in the right location. You can't see the brakes through the wheels anyhow, and you can barely tell how brutal I was from below :uhoh:

The 500 does look very attractive, I am also contemplating on buying one despite the suspension troubles.

I am keeping an eye on this thread for sure!

Made a little progress with the fiat over the weekend, attached the front and back bumpers, got it primered and two base coats. The colour looks very grey in the pictures, maybe the lighting is the cause, its much more accurate to the real colour in person. Did a little work on assembling the front seats next.

Time for a small update, got some time to do some more work on the body, just needs a few more details and a clear coat. Apologies for the pictures as its starting to get dark early here now.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg105/endacurran/Fiat%20500%20Ye%20Ye%20Green/DSCF4183.jpg

Got the seats assembled, filled the holes in the back of the head rests and got them primered.

And finally moved onto the brake assemblies.

Front brake parts.

Back brake parts

And the two assembled for comparison.

Next job is the renowened suspension and ride height issues
