Sports Cam Idle Problem

I have an early 99 Jetta Wolsberg Edition with the 2.0 engine. I upgraded the exhaust, added the chip, replace the airfilter with a K@N filter and replaced the stock cam with a 260 degree sports cam.
Thats when my problem started, the engine started to idle rough specially when there is no load from the A/C. I ended up replacing the Mass Air Flow Sensor, which did not improve the idle. I took it to the dealer and they claim that the Mass Airflow Sensor could not keep up with the Airflow demand due to the new cam. At operating speed the engine performs great and does have extra power. Does any one have any ideas on how to overcome this problem other then going back to my stock Cam?

you realize that no matter what car and other modz, if you put in a hotter cam your going to get a rougher idle?

I dunno, 260 degrees is pretty tame. Did you get heavy duty lifters/followers when you installed your cam?

If you are getting a rough idle with a 260 cam, you might want to recheck the timing. Make sure all the timing marks (flywheel, cam gear, distributor) are lined up properly.
