I really like the paint job and yellow/black combo almost always does it for me, lovely finish. I think, however, that the wheels are too big for this model. Way too big...

Like the stripe design.
Paint looks awesome.
Much better than my recent efforts.
The Tamiya FD3s Rx7 body is very shallow compared to say fujimi.
The chassis could handle some serious lowering for best wheels stance.
Those wheels scale wise are ok, but the tryes are about 65 profile.
A 19" rim would usually run 30 profile on the FD3s.
These days, I always try to lower my cars 2mm which in the real world equates to 48mm. About Perfect.
Your front wheels would be outside the body about 30mm on a real car.
I used Aoshima Advan RG for good result.

Aoshima GT-C Mazdaspeed wheels were good too

But the ride height is bad.
These were some of the first models I built, so i didn't lower them.
this one has Porsche BBS. Soo fat and not good.

These days I'd lower the R1 kit.
If you want to take a photo of the suspension build instructions.
I'd like to see how to work out a lowering.
I have a couple of tutorials on here for Fujimi and Aoshima.

This was the first model that I've seen today, and I said to myself:"Wau! now that's a cool build"! Very shiny paint, I like the stripe pattern aswell. Nice job, and welcome to AF!
