Leaking Power steering pump

:frown: Hello, I am a new user and not great with computers, so bear with me. I have a 2000 Ford Focus. The steering got hard and I popped the hood and fluid was everywhere!! There is an electrical sensor plug coming off the side of the pump and I unhooked the connector and fluid is shooting out of the male end of the plug in the pump!! Never seen fluid flow thru an electrical connector. Does the whole pump need to be replaced, or can that sensor plug come out to fix. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!!!
